Multiplying Grace Giving Campaign

This summer we have a unique opportunity through a matching gifts campaign, “Multiplying Grace,” in which every dollar given (up to $25,000) will be matched 2:1 by a small group of generous leaders--multipliers if you will. A $100 gift becomes a $300 impact in the ministries and mission of Grace!

With so many good things happening in, among, and through Grace, how could you not join in? Good and important things like:

  • New playground equipment for our kids and neighbors to enjoy

  • Showing up for each other in times of challenge and joy

  • Building a house for a fellow Richmonder through Habitat for Humanity

  • Practicing authentic welcome--the kind that welcomes all of who people are--gifts, doubts, and possibilities

  • New signage inside and outside the church

  • Grace Concert Series

  • Renovating spaces for growing children's ministry and nursery needs

  • Empowering women in ministry and leadership to thrive

  • Live-streaming worship and expanding the reach of Grace beyond Richmond

There is a lot of good at Grace to multiply, and we hope you’ll join us by making a gift and TRIPLING YOUR IMPACT! From now until Sept 15 gifts (above pledged giving)made to Multiplying Grace will be TRIPLED!

Take a look around Grace. You’ll see there are a lot of good things going on—grace and goodness worth multiplying again and again!

New Sunday School Start Time

Habitat PRIDE Build 2024

Everyone deserves a decent place to live. Last year, Richmond Habitat proudly launched their first PRIDE Build to invite members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to help us build a home for a family or individual in need. Habitat’s PRIDE Build focuses on building an inclusive Richmond community where every individual and family has the opportunity to obtain fair and equitable housing - and where LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies know they are welcome to come build community. We are sponsoring a habitat house this fall!

Our Volunteer Dates Are*:

September 7, 2024 8 am-3 pm
October 12, 2024 8 am-3 pm
*Likely one more date coming in the fall

*You must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.

Over the past few months, the Adult Education Commission and Staff have been discussing the possibility of adjusting the start time for all Sunday School classes from 9:45 AM to 9:30 AM. This time change has officially gone into effect as of Sunday, September 8th.

We are excited for this change for the following reasons:
1) Choir members won't have to leave their classes and the Children and Youth classes they teach & assist with early at 10:30 in order to be ready to sing for the worship service.
2) Changing the starting time for just 15 minutes would allow a time for coffee and fellowship between Sunday School and Worship. Wouldn't it be great to have 30 minutes to grab a cup of coffee and chat with other members of the church - for members of all Sunday School classes! Anyone who does not attend Sunday School could participate in the fellowship time prior to worship. We hope that the change will allow the members of Grace to continue to develop even deeper friendships with each other.

Join us to Kick off "A New Thing!

"See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:19

Starting this Sunday, September 8, we will have a new Sunday School class for those "in between."  Think of this as a class for those "raised by boomers"--maybe a little younger than that (college age) and maybe a little older.  Wherever you find yourself in that range, we invite you to join us as we do a new thing.  This new class will meet in classroom 1 (the old library) and will be led by Sara Dimick and Aaron Everic.  The class will be theme based and incorporate poetry, scripture, movie clips, literature, and more.
